Vintage Typewriter Ribbon Tins

These vintage typewriter ribbon tins are so beautiful and such a fun thing to collect.  They could be useful for storing all kinds of small things.  Traditionally, ladies in the office used tins for paper clips, thumb tacks, sequins, and hairpins.  Ribbon tins were actually used up until the 1960's, which gives us a look at advertising and style for over 70 years.

Above is part of Janine Vangool's collection which you can view on her Flickr page.  I did some searching to see if I could purchase my own and was surprised to see a good amount on EBay.  Have fun bidding!
