There were many obstacles to cross in order to build this floating house on Lake Huron. It was too expensive to build on site and the water levels on the lake vary drastically from month to month. So naturally you would just build the house off site, on steel platoons that can fluctuate with the water level, and tug it to your location of choice. It is definitely proof that with enough creativity and determination, you can build a house anywhere.
