Tilt-Shift Photography

Check out Smashing Magazine's extensive gallery of tilt-shift photographs, which make huge cities look like architectural models.  Tilt-shift photography is photographs of real life shot with a short depth of field creating illusions of toy sets.  Suprisingly this technique has been around for quite some time but only recently have I seen a surge of popularity.  In order to achieve this technique subjects must be shot from a high altitude with a tilt-shift lens on your camera.  New technology is also making it possible to achieve this technique through photoshop.  To learn more about tilt-shift photography visit here or here.
