The New York Times had several top graphic designers come up with their own versions of new Super Bowl logos. I love Stefan G. Bucher and James Whitney's version, which attempts to appeal to the nerdier scientific crowd bringing in a new viewership. I am also enjoying the clean sleek design from the Pentagram crew.
Not going to lie, the logo for this year is a lot simpler than any of these versions and reminds me of a bank logo. This is actually the first logo to even feature the green field and looking at past logos many don't even imply football at all. It is interesting though to look back and see how much the logos have changed (or in a way haven't changed at all).
